[WT!] Bakuman. - An anime about making manga, but also so much more

First I would like to say that this is my first WT! post, so please keep an open mind even if you see some errors made by me!Watch this: Bakuman.Type: TV Series - 3 Seasons, 25 Episodes per seasonYear: 2011 (1st Season)MAL PageMy Personal Rating: 10/10 - A masterpiece, and my favorite animeWhat is Bakuman.? Bakuman. is an anime from the creators of Death Note, where two guys team up to make manga. One of them is an average student but great at drawing, and the other is an outstanding student who is an up-and-coming writer, so they are a perfect match for each other. Why Should You Watch It?CharactersThe most outstanding thing about Bakuman. is not some outlandish setting or an amazing super power, but it is its amazing characters. The two main characters, Mashiro and Takagi, are amazing together on-screen and the bond they have is irresistible, and also their determination and hard work and integrity really make them admirable. The bond these two share take their relationship to a level beyond just bros.Any show would be pretty dull if only its main characters were good, and Bakuman. definitely doesn't have that problem. We are gradually introduced to a host of other fellow writers, and each of them had their own characteristics that really define them well.Aside from being good friends, they also share a rivalry to be the top manga author, and the whole cast just has an amazing synergy making the show a joy to watch. All the side characters are so well done that it would be a pleasure to watch a show based solely on any of them.As the series went on, the characters also grew and a lot of their relationships changed as well; many people became closer, some got married by the end, and some rifts were also created. Overall, the characters were extremely well made and realistic, which furthered the brilliance of this show and made it even more surreal. The characters were so well-made that I was regularly jumping up from my seat, shaking my hands above my head in celebration as someone finally got first place, and so on. Each of the struggles they also faced really hit home with me, and it felt amazing when (if at all) they overcame them.Lovely Story-tellingLeaving the characters aside (because honestly, I could rave about the character some more :P), Bakuman. also used a lot of semi-subtle cues to "show" the characters' feelings throughout the whole series. I call them "semi-subtle" because while subtle to me, they are definitely well below OreGairu levels of symbolism and mind-blow levels. And I think that's a good thing, because my thinking is that very few were able to grasp most of the hints in that show and looking in a discussion thread (while providing an A-ha! moment) is definitely less satisfying than being able to understand the subtle hand movement of a character you have known and have gotten attached to quite a bit (as in Bakuman.).TL;DR: Watch Bakuman. if you want an anime full of wonderful characters, lovely story-telling, adrenaline-pumping thrills and victories, true friendship and an amazing anime overall.P.S. Remember that it's made by the creators of Death Note?Well, Death Note was made with one person (Ohba) doing the story, and another doing the art (Obata). So Bakuman. is kind of a story of their career in a way. http://ift.tt/1OSN1MJ
