Any interest in a subreddit for weekly "learn Japanese" posts via each episode of an anime show?

tl;dr: I want to make a sub for learning japanese via watching Anime. Skip to end for questions (in bold), read on for story and explaination. So I was just watching 田中くんはいつもけだるげ (Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge or Tanaka-kun is Always Listless) and I was thinking how this show, and other school life comedy/dramas use a lot more common language than other shows. I had a thought about how it would be cool to kill two birds with one stone and learn some Japanese while watching these shows, since we will likely watch them anyways.I was thinking about making a sub for this and posting weekly (at least at first, to see if there is any interest) and gear each post towards absolute beginners, but include stuff for the more advanced (but still for people learning, not near fluent speakers). My idea is as follows:Every season pick one show to cover. Usually a popular show that's mainstream and easy on the dialog and uses more common words and phrases. When each episode comes out, watch it then make a post for people to help them learn.People can go to the thread and read the post and then listen/look out for certain things like words, phrases, etc. Or if they are avoiding spoilers, they can read afterwards and/or rewatch the episode. Then people can discuss what they learn, ask questions on Japanese language stuff in the episode, etc.At the end of each season, a post will be made with links to each episodes' thread/lesson and maybe an extra note or lesson.Hopefully down the road we have a lot of shows up and people can search the sub for the show they are about to watch and learn Japanese while watching anime. And the sub will continue to grow because we can go back and do previously aired shows as well as new shows each season.I have an idea on how each post should go too (not set in stone):Post Title: "Show title, Episode Number" (for easy searching)Text Post:Beginner Section - 5 or so vocab words to listen for and learn with Kanji 漢字, Hiragana ひらがな Romaji and lastly English. Ideally these will be frequently used in the episode to help reinforce learning.ex. 友達 - ともだち - tomodachi - friendIntermediate Section - Verb conjugation, particle use, etc. Similar to above section, but with some commentary.ex. The Particle (ね - ne)Watch out for this sentence:本当にそうですね。 - ほんとうにそうですね。 - hontō ni sō desu ne. - "That's so true."In this case, the speaker is using the particle (ね - ne) to denote agreement with the other person. etc etc etc.Advanced Section - Commentary on the odd use of a word or phrase, verbal exchange/dialog, breakdown of a word, etc. This would have to be done on an episode, but the idea is to break down something, like a summer fireworks festival, linguistically. Note: I said "linguistically" as I want to stick to the theme of learning the language and only discussing culture as it helps learn the language. This section isn't meant to be a cultural discussion or explanation (if possible).A dumbed down version of what I had in mind is something like this:(花火 - はなび - hanabi - firework) is the combination of two words (花 - はな - hana - flower) and (火 - び - bi - fire, light). So the literal definition of はなび is "light flower" or "fire flower."My hope is that each section is accessible to a beginner, though obviously more challenging at each level. The goal for each section being that if someone just wants to pick up a few words they can stick with the Beginner section. If they want to go further into the dialog they can learn from the Intermediate section. And if they want to really dig in they can dive into the Advanced section. This isn't intended to make people native level speakers (or readers) at the end of a season. It's just a fun gateway to learning the language, use the subtitles less, and discuss the episode as it pertains to the Japanese language. To make it easy on the Episode poster(s) each section should be short and sweet to make it easier and quicker to write. That's why I'm suggesting 3-5 common words for the Beginner section, around a paragraph for the Intermediate section, and hopefully not too long of a write up in the Advanced section. The goal is to have a post up within a day or so after the show airs, so people only have to delay a day to watch and/or can read shortly after they watch.I'm still learning Japanese myself, so I won't be able to do all of this alone, nor am I perfect :). So, we will need some fluent/native speakers to make posts and edit others to be more correct. But my idea has room for speakers of all skill sets to help out. If not in the posts themselves, then in the comment section with discussions and such. I was thinking we might be able to recruit some people from /r/LearnJapanese to help out and/or join in on learning through watching anime. Is anyone interested in making a sub with me and/or are there people interested in subscribing and reading these posts? I don't want to sound too ambitious as I have a full time job (and then some), but one post a week stickied at the top is doable.FYI, my idea for this sub likely only allows text posts and only from the people writing the "lessons." And each post will likely be edited to smooth out the wording and make sure everything is correct. On recurring content: I imagine there might be a fair amount of overlap (especially with the vocab words) when you read a lot of episodes/shows' posts, but I don't see that as a bad thing. Repetition is a good way to learn, and ultimately the goal is to grow past each section on your way to learning Japanese. http://ift.tt/1Nr1EGV
