If Code Geass was released now, would it still be acclaimed?

Code Geass had its share of problems, but it's still thought of as a good and at least exciting series. If it was release now instead of back in 2006 and 2007, would it still be as well considered? Or would people complain more about the characters' flaws or plotholes? http://ift.tt/1kOkE5d
