Discussion: Sorting episode threads by "NEW" has now ended its trial run

So, how did you guys like it? This is a thread where you can all post any feedback you have, although I feel like the overwhelming majority probably didn't like it very much?For now, the trial run is over. Announcement: We are trial-running sorting episode discussion posts by "New" for the next week

First things first: I have a feeling ya'll will be divided on this, and I'm not too sure myself how it will turn out, so this is just a trial run.I feel like episode discussions will benefit from users being able to discuss the show after the first hour it's up. Right now, the likelihood of receiving actual discussion when posting late in the episode discussion threads is very low. Often, unfortunately, you'll just post a comment and not see any replies.As such, we'll be trialing getting AutoMod to sort episode discussion threads - only episode ones, nothing else - by new automatically over the next week.I've gone with a week because I feel we have enough episodes during the course of one week to be able to tell if this is working or not.You can still set the sort by Top/Hot yourself when entering the thread, of course.The potential pros of this trial are:Episode threads stay alive for longerPeople will get more discussionUsers who aren't around at the time of posting will still be able to participateLess low effort comments (inspired partially by this meta-thread comment!)Less downvoting to get 'the top spot' (I've personally seen this happen SO many times)The potential cons of this trial are:Promotes more low effort comments a la FTFPeople less-likely to post long, well thought out (high effort) commentsMore spoilers may be presentThis was slightly inspired by /r/movies way of discussing new movies. It seems to work okay for them, however, I have noticed they don't have as many well written, long comments, and they obviously also have less discussions per. week than we do!The changes will be put into effect starting today. Would anyone like to rewatch Ouran Highschool Host Club?

It's one of my favourite comedies and I'd really like to see it again to fully appreciate it better! Ouran was one of my first completed anime alongside Tokyo Mew Mew, so it's been literally years since I've watched it.For those who don't know what Ouran is, it's basically a parody of common shoujo tropes, and of reverse harems. It's really funny, and even if you're not a huge fan of shoujo you'll still enjoy it. You'll especially enjoy it if you think reverse harems are silly or over the top. AND it has a really great OP!Here's the MAL synopsis for anyone who's interested:Haruhi Fujioka is a bright scholarship candidate with no rank or title to speak of—a rare species at Ouran High School, an elite academy for students of high pedigree. Rule Update: Cosplay & Wallpapers

Hey guys! So after having a discussion about it, we've decided that cosplay and wallpaper posts are to fall under the "Lax" category.This means that we're no longer allowing single-cosplay photo submissions, or single-wallpaper submissions, they now belong in the Lax Thursdays threads.As with every other piece of lax content, albums of 5 or more images are allowed to be posted as link submissions as long as "the images are relevant to the point or idea being illustrated."However, we've decided that cosplay albums may be 3 or more images, to allow for cosplayers who haven't or couldn't take many photos.As for wallpapers, we mainly get wallpaper dumps anyway so it's not a big deal, but sometimes just one wallpaper will be submitted, which is a little bit silly and technically should fall under 'fanart' anyway.I know a lot of users do post single wallpapers under the Fanart tag as a self post, and you're of course allowed to keep doing that as you please, since it's a self-post. :)If you have any concerns or questions about the new additions to the lax rule, feel free to post them here and we'll try to reply to them!And here is the full Lax rule with the changes bolded, for reference:Thursday - Lax Thursdays, all low effort content (screenshots, jokes, comics, cosplay, wallpapers, etc) will be redirected to this threadAlbums of 5 or more images (3 or more images for cosplay albums) will be exempt from the lax rule so long as all the images are collected to make a point or illustrate an idea.
