Why do you think there is no spiritual successor to Initial D?

Although it was never known as the best of the best when it came to manga and anime, the sheer influence of this anime is quite insane within the car scene. But even that aside I really feel that racing is a missed opportunity in anime. It's like a pathway was opened but neglected by everyone. The show itself I found to be in a word 'intensive,' the music, the pacing and plot was quite fascinating and if you weren't a car person going in you certain were coming out.The part that strikes me the most is that sports anime is doing quite well lately. Hakiyuu, Kuroko and many others are doing really quite well, and as we know, you dont always have to be interested in a sport to find the anime enjoyable.Japan has one of the biggest, most internationally successful and quirkiest car scene in the world. The culture is in the blood and they, both there and overseas are waiting for a successor to the show that got many of them into the scene in the first place. Why do you guys think there is a lack of content for this genre? http://ift.tt/1F2XQBS
