Based on the title only. So "Clannad Zero" doesn't need to be a sequel to Clannad or has anything to do with Clannad or Ga-Rei Zero. It could just be about origins of the band Clannad. But you can relate your idea to one or both anime.The title can contain new words as long as recognizable parts of the two original titles are in there.
