Hear me out here guys. Shirou Emiya is generally considered to be a sort of harem protagonist because in each timeline in the show and VN he gets with a different girl. I am here to argue that Saber has waaay more game than that. See Shirou needed multiple timelines in order to git gud. Saber does it all in one. Kiritsugu is also kind of a contender assuming he fucked Taiga, but he spent a long period of time doing this and one of the girls was really sheltered and the other he was in an unreasonable position of power over. For our purposes, Saber and Shirou are the best to look at because they both had a short period of time. Shirou's action takes place within a couple of weeks and Saber is summoned for short periods at a time.We won't be counting the possible Lancelot because of that since it's unfair to account for Saber's technical centuries on Shirou. So let's look at all the bitches that Saber manages to accrue: There's Caster: a certifiably insane man who thinks she's the last girl he stalked, Gilgamesh, who thought she was super cute and wanted to do some bondage ownership shit with her, and Lancer, who definitely had an honor boner for her. Of course after that we hit the Fate timeline of F/SN and there's Shirou. This is four bitches who devote themselves to Saber to varying degrees in the space of two series, and in the latter of which she's spending most of her time protecting an insufferable dumbass and her oponent in this discussion.Shirou on the other hand, gets ONE GIRL per timeline, and none of them completely devote themselves to him. They're just kind of there with their own things to do. Saber gets Caster to fucking try to kill lots of people for her with zero effort, Gilgamesh to wait around for years for her, Lancer to sacrifice chances at victory for the sake of engaging in their weird honooor fest (which I'm sure had sexual connotations). Shirou devotes himself to protecting her in the Fate arc until she dies.Shirou also has to work for all of his bitches, meticulously acting in all of the right ways (in the VN) to get them on his D, whereas Saber just has them come to her. In short, Saber is the real harem protagonist and has infinitely more play than Shirou. If you count the dead ends in the VNs, Shirou doesn't even get ONE girl in most timelines.Edit: Saber also has 4 in UBW, nearly forgot.
