I've always been curious about this. I have a personal policy where if I don't like something or if it's obviously not in line with my interests, I simply won't put up with it. It doesn't automatically make the show bad for not fitting my tastes, but I just leave it alone and let people who enjoys shows within the particular genre rate it depending on how it closely follows it.For example, if it's an action show (and literally nothing else), it should solely be criticized for how visually appealing, well-directed, and well-choreographed the fight scenes were in the show. If I happened to be an Ecchi fan, I'm not going to rate it low because they didn't show tits on the screen, but instead I'll just leave it alone since it's not my thing.
