X post from /r/araragi: Experienced musician here. Anyone interested in me doing DETAILED write-ups on what makes each monogatari OP great, chord structure, instruments used, and how they create the atmosphere they do?

As mentioned in my title, I did write-ups about monogatari OPs a while back on /a/ breaking down a few monogatari OPs in moderate depth. If you upvote this post, that shows interest in me doing SERIOUS breakdowns about how monogatari songs work, including chord usage, chord structure, instrumentation, etc. The reason I'm pandering for upvotes is that this will be a lot of work, probably akin to a ten minute plus YouTube video for EACH song. As I said, a decent amount of work. I'd have to find the chords to most songs by ear, which is tough considering a lot of the OPs don't have correct chords assigned to them on internet posts (they confuse minor chords for major 7ths, don't put the song in the correct key, or don't have anyone putting anything on the internet whatsoever). Like I said, a lot of work. Another thing too. If there is sufficient enough interest, there remains another question. Do I do analysis on the OP only version (the classic 1:30 anime cut version that you normally hear at the beginning of an episode to your favorite arc) or the full released song (which is normally 4+ Minutes?) I feel this is a very important question, because some songs that are amazing as 1:30 OPs can fall short (in my opinion) as full songs, and some OPs actually benefit when you hear the full song (looking at you, Marshmallow Justice). Mods, if this violates the rules, please contact me before taking this down, cause I don't want to have this text block destroyed. If it's against the rules, I'll take it down myself. http://ift.tt/1Txa2Hx
