A little over a month ago I created a thread about some potential rewatchs and it seemed like people were generally enthusiastic about the idea of a Ping Pong rewatch around March. I went ahead and messaged the mods about it and got the rewatch added to the rewatch wiki in the sidebar. As this was all over a month ago, I figured that a lot of people have probably forgotten by now, so I'm just posting this as a reminder that the /r/anime rewatch of Ping Pong the Animation starts in exactly one week on February 29th.The current plan is to watch one episode per day with a final discussion thread being created the day after the episode 11 discussion thread. Threads relating to the rewatch will generally be posted around 7:00 p.m. EST. As /r/anime rewatchs are also a popular way for first time viewers to watch the show, I would ask that all those participating mark anything that happens in an episode after the episode currently being discussed as a spoiler. If you're on the fence about watching Ping Pong, then the rewatch thread located here gives a fairly decent overview of the show's strengths. I personally would recommend the show to anyone who enjoys character dramas as the cast of ping pong is generally likable and well developed across the board. All of the main characters get pretty satisfying character arcs and even a lot of the secondary cast get fleshed out well.I know /r/anime has been suffering from a bit of rewatch fatigue recently, but I'm fairly optimistic that this rewatch will be a success. Ping Pong came out two years ago, so I figure enough time has passed for those who watched it while it was airing to be beginning to hanker for a rewatch. Additionally, I know that a lot of people passed on this show initially due to the art style. I'm hoping that this rewatch will convince a decent number of new viewers to check the show out. Also /r/anime needs to learn why Kong losing in round 1 of the best guy contest is not okay. http://ift.tt/21muXwW
