Pilot Io Fleming of the Moore Brotherhood is shot down in battle by Daryl Lorenz, a Zeon ace sniper, but manages to escape. After killing an enemy pilot and stealing his mobile suit, Io taunts Daryl by sneering at his prosthetic legs.
